Java - Mr. Sweep
Mr. Sweep was my submission for the final project of a computer science course (ICS 4M0 – Information and Computer Science). For this project, my partner was Jack Truong.
Mr. Sweep is a curling-themed game programmed in Java. The object of the game is to land the curling stones onto coloured "puddles" which appear randomly in the curling rink. The Mr. Sweep character was inspired by Mr. Clean. The curling rink has a bathroom tile texture to add to the overall theme of the game.
While not the most entertaining game produced, Mr. Sweep is the first, and as of yet, the only program in the history of the class to feature 3D graphics (via the Java3D API).

3ds max - Housekeeping and Safety Animation
Housekeeping and Safety my team's (Team 912 – Iron Lyons) entry for the 2005–2006 FIRST Robotics Safety Animation Competition.
The animation was created using 3ds Max 8 (donated free to all teams by Autodesk). Adobe Photoshop 6 and an old scanner were used to create the textures. The animation was rendered on a very makeshift farm of two computers connected through a crossover cable, as I did not have any networking equipment at the time and the school would not allow me use of the new Pentium 4 computers for this project. Using both machines, the total time to render all frames was roughly ten hours. In hindsight, I would attribute the ten hours to needlessly complex geometry of the objects, which are the result of a lack of time and experience.
This was my first attempt at creating anything with 3ds Max. Felix Reyn provided the music and sound effects for the project.
The world in the animation was modelled after the team's actual work environment – a "portable" classroom.
The table saw was modelled after a table saw which the team purchased for the season. Unfortunately, it served as an actual table instead, providing valuable space for food, papers, and pieces of steel. The ENiGMA logo was used in place of the actual manufacturer's brand name, and originates from the Mr. Sweep game (featured at the top of this page).
